Who I Work With
Kids and Teens (age 10+)
If your child is struggling, let’s help them together. I work with parents to help ensure progress and build on the work we do in therapy. Some common issues I help kids with include:
- Coping with developmental issues (Autism, ADHD, Learning Disability, etc.)
- Social skills and relationship issues
- Bullying
- School issues
- Common mental health issues (depression, anxiety, trauma, etc.)
- Screen and video game addiction
- Health issues (coping with medical illness, healthy weight management, etc.)
- Grief and loss
Young Adults
Young adulthood represents a developmental crossroad where you figure out who you are and what you want your life to be about. I help young adults navigate difficult questions around identity, relationships, career, and more – and I’m confident I can help you, too! Some reasons young adults come to therapy might include:
- Gender and sexuality identity
- Relationship issues (dating, marriage, divorce, etc.)
- Common mental health issues (depression, anxiety, trauma, etc.)
- Loneliness and social isolation
- Major life decisions (college, career, committed relationship, etc.)
- Grief and loss
Neurodivergent Community
I’m passionate about working with autistic and ADHD teens and adults. As a neurotypical therapist with extensive experience helping autistic people and their families, my focus is to provide new perspectives, practical solutions, and (most importantly) a safe space for you to be yourself. Some of the things I can help with include:
- Improving health behaviors (hygiene, physical activity, balanced diet, etc.)
- Developing a healthy, growth-minded autistic identity
- Learning social skills
- Dealing with bullies
- Moving towards increased independence
- Making and keeping friends
What I Do
Individual and Group Psychotherapy
I provide individual and group psychotherapy for kids (10 years old and up) and adults in Oregon. I have worked in schools, medical clinics, emergency rooms, university counseling centers, and hospitals.
Here are the most important things to know about my therapy:
Therapy is active. I work hard to help my clients develop insight, self-awareness, and a sense of empowerment. However, those things will only help if you also make real changes to your life. You can learn new skills, new ways of thinking, and new solutions that will help you beyond the therapy office.
Therapy is collaborative. Group up with me! As an avid Dungeons & Dragons enthusiast and former Division 1 athlete, I can tell you that people work best in teams. Similarly, therapy is most effective when we work together to identify problems and develop solutions. You don’t have to do this alone – we can tackle those issues together.
Therapy is relational. All of us yearn for belonging, and human beings are hardwired for connection. As an Interpersonally-oriented therapist, I know that many of life’s problems are rooted in how we relate to one another. So, I pay attention to how we work together and provide feedback that can augment your capacity for connection with others.
Therapy is fun. Don’t get me wrong – therapy is hard work. But, therapy can also be a blast! I absolutely love what I do, and some of my most cherished memories happened in therapy. We’ll laugh, we’ll cry, and we’ll probably make our own inside jokes.
Clinical Supervision
I provide supervision and consultation for psychologists and postdoctoral fellows.
