Therapy for Kids & Teens
Here at Time for Therapy, we create a safe, welcoming space where kids and teens can explore their feelings, build confidence, and find their way forward. Whether your child is struggling with big emotions, friendship challenges, school stress, or just feeling a little lost, our child therapists are here to help.
Parents often feel pressured to handle everything on their own, find solutions to all the challenges their child faces. But, even the best parents can’t be everything for their children – and that’s especially true when it comes to pediatric mental health needs. A third party can bring new support, understanding, and the right tools to help your child navigate life’s ups and downs. Through therapy, they can develop resilience, strengthen self-esteem, and learn how to handle whatever comes next—with confidence and courage.

Service Type
Therapy for Kids (5 to 12 Years Old)
Please note: Children under the age of 10 may be more appropriate for in-person services rather than telehealth.
Child therapy includes some combination of time with the child as well as the parent. Each therapist has their own approach for how meetings are organized. Some may even require separate parent sessions to equip you with insights and skills to further your child’s progress.
Your child’s therapist will help them learn to work through anxiety, stress, friendships, school pressures, and more, all while developing resilience, self-confidence, and healthy coping strategies.

Therapy for Teens (13 to 17 Years Old)
Therapy for teens looks a lot like therapy for adults. In fact, teens often benefit most when they have the privacy to express themselves with confidentiality, just like an adult would in their own sessions. Of course, every teen is different, and some teen therapists will involve parents more/less depending on the teen and goals for therapy. Whether they are surviving middle school, navigating the challenges of high school, or preparing for plans after graduation, your teen will benefit from the extra support.

Social Skills Classes
Making friends and navigating social situations can be tough—but it’s a skill that can be learned, practiced, and strengthened. Our social skills groups provide a fun, supportive environment where kids and teens can build confidence, improve communication, and develop meaningful connections with others.
We offer both general social skills classes and Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) social skills groups, where participants learn teamwork, problem-solving, and friendship-building—all through the magic of storytelling and adventure. Whether your child thrives in structured learning or engages best through play, we help them gain the skills to connect, communicate, and feel more at ease in social settings.

Clinical Specialties
Neurodivergent Kids & Teens
We recognize and celebrate neurodiversity, offering therapy tailored to the needs of autistic, ADHD, OCD, and otherwise divergent folks in Oregon who experience the world in unique ways.
We believe that when neurodivergent kids feel understood and supported, they thrive. That’s why our approach goes beyond traditional therapy—focusing on empowering both children and their families with the tools, strategies, and insights they need to navigate life with confidence.
For kids, our therapy sessions provide a safe, validating space to explore emotions, build self-awareness, and develop practical skills for self-regulation, social connection, and daily challenges. We work with their natural strengths, interests, and unique ways of thinking to create personalized, engaging support that actually makes a difference.
For parents, we offer guidance and coaching to help you better understand your child’s experiences, advocate for their needs, and foster a home environment that supports growth, emotional well-being, and self-acceptance. When children and caregivers work together, the impact is even greater.

No matter how your child is processing their loss, they don’t have to go through it alone.
At Time for Therapy, we provide a gentle, understanding space where kids and teens can express their emotions, ask hard questions, and find ways to heal at their own pace.
